The 56th Street Station is a crossroads for the community and transit system riders. For over 75 years, millions of people have passed through the station and have left something of themselves there. Brighter Moments is a collective monument to these vignettes of time and memories presented in ceramic tile at street level and station platform columns. Its purpose is to create a sense of place and invoke a sense of curiosity that pays tribute to the very station itself. Its goal is to inspire discussion and a spirit of hope and anticipation for the future.
