Walking on Sunshine consists of six historically rich, abstracted visual landscapes which lie underneath the feet of several thousand daily commuters. By breaking up the playing field with a wide range of painting styles, imagery, and materials, these six vestibules stimulate the imagination and expand the viewers' understanding of their individual location in time and place. Riders will continually have brief moments, while waiting to travel from here to there, to ponder how sunflowers and daffodils are related to numbers, lines, and patterns within one pictorial floor painting.
