SEPTA Takes the Phanatic and Phillies Fans to the Ballgame

Phillies Opening Night Celebration | Wednesday, April 11, 2012

WHAT:
The "Fightin' Phils" are back in town! SEPTA and the Phillie Phanatic are marking the first night game of the 2012 season and the convenience of taking the Broad Street Line to Citizens Bank Park with a celebration at Walnut-Locust Station. Fans will be given rally towels and other Phillies giveaways.

After the celebration, fans can join the Phanatic for a ride on the Broad Street Line's specially decorated, five-car "Phillies Express" train to AT&T Station.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tokens ahead of time and have their passes and fares ready to board the "Phillies Express" at Walnut-Locust Station.

DETAILS:
Taking SEPTA is the most convenient way for fans to get to Citizens Bank Park. Sports Express service will be available prior to each home game on the Broad Street Line. The Broad Street Line is accessible from a number of other SEPTA services, including the Market-Frankford Line, Regional Rail and bus and trolley routes. Fans from South Jersey can also access the Broad Street Line from the PATCO High Speed Line. In 2011, fans made 7,400 trips daily trips on the Broad Street Line for Phillies' games.

SEPTA also offers fans big savings for game-day travel. With the purchase of a two-pack of tokens, a round-trip to AT&T Station on the Broad Street Line is only $3.10. One-way cash fare is just $2.00. Savings are also available with the purchase of a SEPTA Independence Pass, which offers unlimited one-day travel on all SEPTA services for one low price.
