Senior Citizens

Senior Citizens, age 65 and older, with a valid ID, ride FREE at all times on all Transit Routes (Bus, Trolley, Trackless Trolley, Broad Street/Broad Ridge Spur Line, Market Frankford Line/Norristown High Speed Line) and $1.00 on Regional Rail for travel within Pennsylvania and 50% of the Weekday Fare for travel to/from New Jersey and the State of Delaware.

IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO COME TO 1234 MARKET STREET TO HAVE YOUR PHOTO TAKEN TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SEPTA KEY SENIOR CARD. CHECK WITH YOUR STATE SENATOR OR REPRESENTATIVE FOR DETAILS ABOUT COMPLETING THE SEPTA KEY SENIOR ID CARD APPLICATION PROCESS AT THEIR LOCAL OFFICE.


To Obtain a Pennsylvania Senior Citizen Transit Identification Card

The application for a Senior Citizen Transit Identification Card is available to download or may be obtained in person at the Customer Service location at 1234 Market Street.

If you prefer to download, print and complete the Senior Citizen Transit ID application ahead of time, please make sure all fields above the words "This Section To Be Completed By Transit Agency" on the application are filled in. You may contact Customer Service at (215) 580-7800 to request an application by mail, or visit a Customer Service location.

Applicants for a Senior Citizen Transit Identification Card must appear in person to complete the application process. You will have your photo taken as part of the registration process.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Applicants are required to show at least one form of accepted identification along with a completed application.

Replacement of Lost Cards

Lost or stolen paper Senior Transit Identification Cards will be replaced one (1) time at no cost. A second replacement card will not be issued until one (1) year elapses from the date of the original replacement. To replace a lost or stolen SEPTA Key Senior Card you must immediately call the Key Customer Call Center at 855-567-3782 (this is not SEPTA Customer Service). The customer service representative will provide information on how to replace the Card.
